Reducing emissions.
Removing CO2.
Our mission
The mission of the Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen (German Association for Negative Emissions (DVNE)) is to limit global warming to ensure that life on our planet can continue to thrive.
Global warming is caused by the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. In order to reduce this concentration and thus curb global warming, we must go beyond emission reduction and actively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The DVNE is an association of companies that offer and develop solutions for active carbon dioxide removal (CDR). With its combined strength, the DVNE gives the CDR industry in Germany a strong and differentiated voice. As the DVNE, we ensure that the CDR ecosystem is able to scale and that we achieve a climate-effective CO2 removal capacity.
“Our goal is for Germany to assume a leading role in active CO2 removal.”
Stefan Schlosser, Managing Director of the DVNE
Collaboration, information, implementation.
The DVNE was founded in July 2023 as the first national CDR association in the EU. It brings together over 50 members from the CDR industry, including large corporations as well as start-ups and scale-ups.
The DVNE promotes cooperation between players in the CDR ecosystem as a multi-stakeholder platform. As a synchronising platform, we bring together the CDR industry, politics, business and society. In this way, we enable measures to be implemented in Germany and the EU in order to achieve climate targets.
