28 July 2026

We’re looking for a Policy Manager!

Would you like to help shape an ecosystem in which CO₂ removal can scale and deliver real climate impact? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Location: Berlin, hybrid
Working hours: Full-time

About us

The German Association for Negative Emissions (DVNE) is the largest national association for active CO₂ removal in the EU. As a coordinating platform, we are actively building Germany’s CDR industry. We bring companies together, convene relevant stakeholders and create knowledge. Our goal is to strengthen climate action, create jobs and secure economic value.

Your responsibilities

Together with our members and partners, you will develop policy measures to scale active CO₂ removal efficiently. You will represent these measures to policymakers and federal ministries and actively advocate for their implementation. This is your opportunity to help shape environmental and climate policy!

  • You develop strategies for efficiently scaling the full spectrum of CDR methods and communicate them clearly.
  • You take the current landscape of climate policy instruments into account, identify suitable funding opportunities for CDR and develop approaches to secure additional funding for the industry.
  • You attend numerous meetings in Berlin, including at the German Bundestag and federal ministries. This also includes informal meetings and evening events.
  • You serve as a point of contact for enquiries from our members and explain current political developments to them in clear terms.
  • You lead working groups, prepare position papers and coordinate them with our members.
  • You develop funding concepts and financing strategies for CDR projects.
  • You support applications, reporting and the management of relationships with funders.
  • You work closely with the team and external partners to connect policy and fundraising activities.

What you bring

  • Experience working with the German Bundestag and federal ministries
  • Experience in climate policy, ideally including knowledge of existing climate policy instruments
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders from politics, academia and business
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with funders and partners
  • Very good German and English skills

What we offer

  • Modern working environment: a hybrid remote culture with flexible working hours
  • Compensation: €70,000 to €80,000 gross per year, depending on your experience and profile
  • Location: For this position, we would prefer you to live in or near Berlin, as you will attend many in-person meetings. Our office is also located in Berlin, where you will regularly meet our team, which is distributed across Germany.
  • Benefits: a personal professional development budget, regular team events and offsites, Urban Sports Club membership and a Deutschlandticket

Become part of our mission!

We welcome applications from everyone who is motivated to work with us towards achieving our climate targets – regardless of gender, background or any other characteristics.
