Policy Manager wanted. Join the crew!

28 January 2026

Want to help build an ecosystem where carbon dioxide removal can scale up and make a real difference to the climate? Then you’ve come to the right place! We’re looking for a full-time Policy Manager.

About us

The German Association for negative Emissions (DVNE) is the largest national association for carbon dioxide removal in the EU. As a synchronising platform, we are actively building up the German CDR industry. We bring companies together, bring relevant players to the table and create knowledge. Our goal: to strengthen climate protection, create jobs and secure value creation.

Your responsibilities

You will work with our members and partners to develop policy measures to efficiently scale carbon dioxide removal (CDR). You will represent these measures to politicians and ministries and actively promote their implementation. If you are passionate about environmental and climate protection and want to influence political action, then apply now!

  • You will develop strategies for efficiently scaling the entire spectrum of CDR methods and formulate these in a comprehensible manner.
  • In doing so, you will take into account the status quo of climate policy instruments, find out which funding sources we can use for CDR and how we can acquire further funds for the industry.
  • You will attend numerous meetings in Berlin, including at the Bundestag and in ministries. This also includes informal meetings and evening events.
  • You will be the contact person for enquiries from our members and explain current political events.
  • You will lead working groups and draft position papers in consultation with members.
  • You will develop funding concepts and financing strategies for CDR projects.
  • You will assist with applications, reports and the maintenance of funding relationships.
  • You will work closely with the team and external partners to combine policy and fundraising activities.

What you bring to the table

  • Experience working with the German Bundestag and federal ministries
  • Experience in climate policy, ideally knowledge of existing climate policy instruments
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders from politics, science and business
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with sponsors and partners
  • Very good German and English

What we offer

  • Modern working: Hybrid remote culture with flexible working hours
  • Salary: €70,000 – €85,000 (for a very good fit and extensive experience)
  • Office: A person from (close to) Berlin is preferred, as there are many on-site appointments to attend. This is also where our office is located, where you will regularly meet the team spread across Germany.
  • Benefits: Personal training budget, regular team events, offsites, Urban Sports Club membership

Be part of our mission!

We welcome applications from anyone who is motivated to fight with us to achieve climate goals – regardless of gender, origin or other characteristics.
